ORANG FASIK & ORANG BENAR

Tuhan mengenal jalan orang benar, tetapi jalan orang fasik menuju kebinasaan [Mazmur 1:6]

Kitab Mazmur mengisahkan hubungan antara orang beriman dan Tuhan, tak salah jika pengumpul Kitab Mazmur meletakkan Mazmur 1 ini menjadi bagian pertama dari kumpulan Mazmur. Dengan tegas, pemazmur menasihati agar orang beriman jangan hidup sembrono. Sekalipun "cuma" duduk dilingkungan pencemooh dan berdiri dilingkungan orang berdosa, itu bisa membuatnya terjerumus. Sebab, dosa akan melahirkan dosa. Maka, kita dinasihati supaya mengenal siapa orang fasik, siapa orang benar, dan menjaga hati kita saat bergaul dengan banyak orang.

Orang fasik ialah orang yang mengetahui kebenaran, tetapi mengabaikannya. Malah, hidupnya begitu banyak diisi dengan keinginan guna menyenangkan orang lain. Ia tak memiliki prinsip, hidupnya menjadi seperti sekam yang diterbangkan kian kemari oleh badai hidup. Walau bisa tampak hebat, tetapi dengan mudah ia bisa lenyap hingga tak berbekas.

Orang benar ialah orang yang bergaul dekat dengan Tuhan lewat firman-Nya. Hidupnya terus "bertumbuh seperti pohon yang ditanami di tepi sungai". Maka, sekalipun badai mengguncang dan panas terik melanda, ia tetap kokoh, bahkan terus berbuah. Inilah tanda orang yang bergaul dengan Tuhan: hidupnya banyak memberkati orang lain dengan kebaikan dan kebenaran. Selain itu, secara pribadi ia diberkati dengan kebahagiaan dan kepuasan, sebab hidupnya melekat kepada Sang Sumber Hidup.

Jaga hati kita dalam pergaulan dengan penuh kewaspadaan. Jadilah orang yang mengalami kepuasan dan kebahagiaan, serta menjadi berkat bagi orang lain. Yakni, dengan bergaul karib dengan Tuhan, melalui firman-Nya.

Orang yang terluka biasanya terdorong untuk membalas. Terkadang tanpa disadari. Rasa dendam yang menyelinap di hati membuat kita tak lagi bebas mengasihi semua orang. Bagaimana mengatasinya? Petrus menasihati agar kita "hidup sebagai orang merdeka". Seseorang disebut merdeka jika jiwanya bebas dari dendam. Bebas dari niat membalas kejahatan dengan balik berbuat jahat. Dengan jiwa yang merdeka, kita bisa menghormati semua orang, termasuk majikan yang bengis terhadap kita. Petrus jadikan Yesus sebagai contoh. Ketika dicaci maki hati-Nya terluka, tetapi Dia tidak balas melukai orang. Apa rahasianya? Dia menyerahkan urusan pembalasan itu kepada Bapa!

Adakah dendam dalam hati Anda? Niat balas dendam membuat hati tidak bisa lagi bening. Pikiran jadi ruwet. Bahkan, bisa membuat kita nekat berbuat jahat. Kadang kala orang yang tidak melukai kita pun bisa kena getahnya. Pembalasan itu melumpuhkan dan membahayakan! Lebih baik serahkan sakit hati kita kepada Allah. Mintalah kepada Dia untuk mengambil alih perkara itu dan membebaskan jiwa Anda.

Dan, inilah keadilan Tuhan; kasih itu dapat dinyatakan dengan sesuatu yang dapat dilakukan tiap orangtua: investasi waktu-yang tak menuntut kita untuk selalu keluar uang. Anak-anak hanya perlu kita ada bersama mereka, punya waktu mendengar mereka, punya kesempatan menyentuh mereka dengan kasih dan menenteramkan.

Salomo adalah salah satu tokoh Alkitab yang tercatat karena kebijaksanaan, kemasyhuran, kesuksesan. Namun, siapakah pribadi di balik ke berhasilannya itu? Betulkah ia menyebut- nyebut ayahnya-yang berperan mendidik dan menasihatinya? Bacaan hari ini menunjukkan hal itu. Daud, ayah Salomo, memberi waktu yang ia punya untuk mengarahkan putranya agar hidup di jalan Tuhan. Dan, kita telah melihat hasilnya. Maka, sesibuk-sibuknya kita sebagai orangtua, mari prioritaskan selalu waktu untuk anak.

Alkitab mencatat bahwa harta tersebut mereka peroleh dari Tuhan, melalui orang-orang Mesir: "Dan Tuhan membuat orang Mesir bermurah hati terhadap bangsa itu, sehingga memenuhi permintaan mereka" Keluaran 12:36. Artinya, harta yang mereka persembahkan bagi Tuhan ini sebenarnya berasal dari Tuhan juga.

Apabila direnungkan, bukankah demikian pula asal harta yang kita miliki? Setiap berkat itu datang dari Tuhan. Dan, diberikan kepada kita melalui tangan orang-orang yang Tuhan pakai. Dengan kesadaran seperti ini, selayaknya kita meneladani apa yang dilakukan bangsa Israel. Ketika Tuhan Sang Pemberi berkat itu meminta mereka memberi persembahan, mereka menyerahkan harta yang dimiliki tanpa menahan-nahan. Apabila saat ini ada pekerjaan Tuhan yang menanti uluran tangan Anda, jangan ragu untuk memberi dengan sukacita.

KARENA SEGALA YANG KITA MILIKI BERASAL DARI TUHAN BERILAH PERSEMBAHAN BAGI-NYA TANPA MENAHAN-NAHAN.

ANAK DOMBA ALLAH

Melayani Tuhan jelas merupakan aktivitas yang mulia, apa pun bentuknya. Oleh karena itu, seharusnya pelayanan dilakukan dengan sikap yang benar pula. Namun, terkadang orang mengalami kesamaran arah sehingga tidak dapat bersikap sebagaimana seharusnya. Banyak aktivitas gereja bisa marah karena mereka merasa sudah banyak berkorban untuk melayani, tetapi tidak dihargai. Tidak dibantu, malah dicela.

Ini mungkin yang terjadi pada Marta. Bagaimana bisa Maria membebankan semua kerepotan dipundaknya saja, seoleh-olah hanya ia yang berkewajiban melayani tamu? Sampai-sampai Marta memprotes kepada Tuhan Yesus. Namun, Yesus malah membela Maria, membenarkan pilihan Maria untuk duduk dikaki-Nya dan mendengarkan-Nya. Dan, Marta ditegur karena telah menyusahkan diri dengan hal-hal di luar itu. Maria telah memilih yang terbaik, yakni membiarkan Tuhan melayaninya. Jika Marta disibukkan dengan palayanannya bagi Yesus, Maria disibukkan oleh pelayanan Yesus baginya. Dan, Yesus menghargai sikap Maria yang seperti seorang murid - mau belajar dan mau mendengar.

Sudahkah kita juga bersikap seperti seorang murid? Ingatlah bahwa menjadi murid bukan hanya dengan terus-menerus menyibukan diri dalam pelayanan. Jangan sampai kita menempatkan sesuatu yang baik, seperti pelayanan, menjadi lebih utama daipada yang terbaik, yaitu berpaut kepada Allah - mendengar firman-Nya. Disiplin menempatkan seorang ke tingkat tertinggi dan membuat prestasinya bertahan lama.

Untuk mengembangkan gaya hidup disiplin, salah satu caranya adalah hilangkan kecenderungan membuat alasan. Jika Anda selalu punya banyak alasan mengapa Anda tidak bisa disiplin, sadarilah bahwa itu hanyalah suatu pembenaran diri.

Jika sekarang Anda kurang berdisiplin, mungkin selama ini Anda terbiasa menikmati makanan pencuci mulut sebelum memakan nasinya, menikmati imbalan sebelum pekerjaannya selesai.

Semasa saya kecil, keluarga kami ada di ambang kemiskinan. Apabila kami makan, Ibu kerap mengambil lagi lauk di piringnya, untuk dibagi ke anak-anaknya. Hingga ia tinggal ber-lauk garam. Jika ditegur, ia berkata, "Mama sudah cukup. Kita mesti hemat supaya bisa mendukung kakak-kakakmu yang sekolah di luar kota. "Pada kali lain, saya sakit sampai berguling-guling. Dengan gemetar. Mama memeluk dan menguatkan saya. Lalu, sambil menangis ia berlutut dan berdoa, "Bapa, jika boleh saya saja yang menanggung derita anak ini, tolong jamah dia." Apabila kasih ibu sudah dianggap paling besar di bumi ini, betapa lebih besar dan kuatnya lagi kasih Allah yang tak pernah putus asa mendampingi dan menguatkan umat-Nya.

Para ibu yang terkasih, hidup Anda meninggalkan jejak yang dalam di kehidupan anak-anak. Teladani-lah kasih Allah yng tak pernah melupakan anak-anak-Nya. Dan, jagalah hidup Anda agar menjadi jembatan bagi anak-anak untuk mengenal Allah.

....ia melahirkan seorang anak laki-laki....dan dibaringkan di dalam palungan, karena tidak ada tempat bagi mereka di rumah penginapan [Lukas 2:7]

Tego bingung. Sutinah, istrinya, akan segera melahirkan. Karena kondisi Sutinah sudah lemah, bidan kampung merujuknya ke rumah sakit terdekat yang mempunyai program Jamkesmas. Sesampai di sana, Sutinah ditolak karena semua kamar untuk rawat inap sudah penuh. Tego tidak berani membawa Sutinah ke rumah sakit swasta karena tak sanggup membayar, tetapi juga tidak tega melihat istrinya kesakitan. Dengan langkah penuh harapan, ia menyusuri setiap lorong rumah sakit, berharap ada satu tempat tidur kosong yang lupa terdata oleh petugas rumah sakit supaya Sutinah bisa segera ditolong.

Langkah penuh harapan itu mungkin juga dialami Yusuf sesampai di Betlehem saat berusaha menemukan tempat menginap, sebab Maria hendak bersalin. Mungkin memang tak ada tempat di rumah penginapan yang mereka datangi. Mungkin juga ada, tetapi bukan untuk mereka. Atau memang ada, tetapi pemiliknya tidak mau repot karena melihat kondisi Maria yang hamil tua. Penulis Injil Lukas tidak menjelaskan lebih jauh selain bahwa akhirnya Maria melahirkan anak laki-laki yang dibungkus lampin dan dibaring di palungan, karena tak ada tempat bagi mereka di penginapan.

Kali ini "pintu" itu diketuk lagi. Bukan pintu rumah penginapan, melainkan "pintu hati" kita, sebab ke sanalah Yesus ingin "lahir". Ada baiknya mengambil waktu memeriksa hati. Jangan-jangan hati kita sesak oleh berbagai urusan sehingga tak ada ruang lagi bagi Yesus. Atau jika ada, ruang kosong di hati kita sudah di peruntukkan bagi hal lain. Atau, kita terlalu sibuk sekadar membuka hati bagi kelahiran Sang Juru Selamat. Tok! Tok! Tok!.

ADA BANYAK TEMPAT DI HATI KITA SUDAHKAN YESUS MENEMPATI BAGIAN UTAMANYA?

Saat ditanya alasan ia mau membaktikan diri, jawabnya ialah karena ia adalah bagian dari mereka yang selamat. Orangtua, saudara, dan kerabatnya tewas dalam bencana itu. Sementara, ia selamat karena sedang keluar kota. Maka, itulah caranya menyikapi kepedihan. Bukan hanya meratap, melainkan berbuat sesuatu untuk sesamanya.

Dengan singkat, tetapi memesona, Matius menuturkan sukacita Natal yang pertama. Mesias yang dijanjikan Allah selama berabad-abad, telah datang. Orang Majus, yang dianggap kaum cerdik pandai dari dunia timur, sujud menyembah-Nya. Mereka datang tidak dengan tangan hampa, tetapi membawa upeti layaknya persembahan bagi raja.

Namun, secara mengejutkan Matius menyelipkan kisah pilu para ibu di Betlehem, yang meratap karena bayi mereka dibunuh tentara Herodes. Rupanya Herodes marah karena merasa dibohongi Orang Majus. Maka, ia memerintahkan pembunuhan itu karena tak mau seorang raja lain tumbuh dan kelat menumbangkan takhtanya. Termasuk dosa Anda dan saya! Sekarang, sebagai orang yang diberi hak hidup karena diselamatkan dari kematian kekal, apa yang seharusnya kita lakukan bagi  mereka yang masih dikungkung dosa?
