Kalau ditanya secara umum, hari raya manakah merupakan hari raya
terbesar bagi orang Kristen? Jawaban pasti Hari Natal. Namun menurut
iman Kristen, hari Natal bukanlah hari raya terbesar, melainkan hari
Paskah, yang memperingati kebangkitan Tuhan Yesus dari kematian.
Mengapa? karena kalau tidak ada kebangkitan, sia-sialah seluruh
pemberitaan dan kepercayaan orang
kristen. Orang Kristen percaya bahwa kematian Yesus bukan kematian
biasa, karena Yesus mati disalib (suatu hukuman mati yang paling kejam).
Luar biasanya kematian Yesus bukan saja penderitaannya yang luar biasa
di atas salib, terlebih lagi karena bersedia melaksanakan kehendak Allah
Bapa untuk menjadi korban penebusan bagi semua manusia yang berdosa.
Kebangkitan Yesus juga bukan kebangkitan biasa, memang dalam sejarah
manusia tercatat orang yang sudah mati bisa hidup kembali cukup banyak,
namun yang sudah bangkit dan tidak mati lagi sama sekali tidak pernah
ada. Tuhan Yesus adalah satu-satunya manusia yang sudah mati dan hidup
kembali selama-lamanya.
MAKNA HARI RAYA PASKAH
Makna hari raya paskah atau hari kebangkitan Yesus sangat dalam dan luas.
1. Kebangkitan Yesus telah mengalahkan kuasa maut, sehingga pengorbanan Yesus telah memberi kepastian bagi orang yang percaya, agar tidak binasa melainkan memperoleh hidup yang kekal.
2. Kebangkitan Yesus dari maut juga menyatakan kasih dan kuasa mengalahkan dosa, karena upah dosa adalah maut. Maka semua orang yang percaya harus mengaku dosa dan bertobat, supaya disucikan dari dosa dan diberi kesanggupan menempuh hidup suci.
3. Kebangkitan Yesus memberi semangat hidup. Para pengikut Yesus sebelumnya sangat patah hati dan patah semangat, namun bisa dibangkitkan menjadi saksi Tuhan yang teguh hati.
4. Kebangkitan Yesus memberi damai sejahtera bagi orang yang percaya, sehingga selalu ada rasa bahagia dan senantiasa mau memuji dan memuliakan Tuhan.
5. Kebangkitan Yesus adalah anugerah yang sangat ajaib, sehingga setiap orang yang menghayati kasih dan kuasa Tuhan, pasti bersedia menyerahkan diri untuk menjadi berkat bagi sesama manusia dengan tanpa pamrih.
